New Patient Registration
You can register yourself or your family member by filling out the New Patient Registration Form through our website or by visiting the clinic and filling out the paper form. It is advised you arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your appointment giving adequate time for the registration process.

Walk-In patients are welcome, however, please check with the reception with regard to waiting times.

Appointment Types and Times
Standard appointments are 10 minutes. Please contact reception if you need a long appointment.
For flu vaccines, you can book directly with the nurse or with the doctor.
Childhood immunisation can be booked with the nurse, but call reception for availability.
Work Cover and TAC appointments would best be booked by calling reception. So we could allocate appropriate times. However, please note that we will not be taking over existing Work Cover or TAC claims.
Minor surgeries and contraception procedures can only be booked after having a consultation with the doctor.
Cancellation of an Appointment
Patients are kindly requested to inform the clinic at least 24 hours prior to the cancellations.
There would be no cancellation fee applicable. However, repeated cancellation without notice may result in your appointment getting declined.
Telephone Consultations
Telephone appointments only available to patients who have had a face-to-face appointment at the clinic within the past 12 months prior to the appointment, as per the Medicare rules.

Our Fees and Charges
All patients with a valid Medicare Card will be bulk billed.
Private patients (non-Medicare holders) will be charged a gap fee of AUD 15 to 45 (after deducting the private health insurance claim) depending on the consultation type and length.Surgical Procedures, Implanon and IUCD insertions, dressing changes, pre-employment medical assessment and Driver's License Medical Tests will incur an out-of-pocket charge.
Payments on VISA and MASTER Cards are accepted.

Following up your results
You will receive a Text message from the clinic when your results are available. Please book an appointment with your doctor to discuss the results.
Register with us for MyMedicare
MyMedicare is a voluntary patient registration model that aims to formalise the relationship between patients, their general practice, general practitioner (GP) and primary care teams. The Australian Government has introduced MyMedicare as part of an ongoing commitment to strengthening Medicare for all Australians.
Eligible patients can:
1. Fill out MyMedicare registration form online or when you visit us next time. By signing the form, you are giving your consent to participate in MyMedicare with Serendib Medical Beaconsfield medical centre. Practice staff will then complete the registration in the MyMedicare system.
2. Start the registration via your Medicare Online Account or Express Plus Medicare Mobile app and select Serendib Medical Beaconsfield as your GP. Practice staff will then accept the registration in the MyMedicare system.

Drug Policy and Patient Behaviour
Our clinic does not prescribe restricted S8 medications or opioids. Your doctor may refuse to prescribe certain drugs of dependence. Any abusive behaviour towards the doctors and the staff will not be tolerated and you may be asked to leave the premises promptly. Abusive or violent behaviour will be notified to the Victorian Police. Such patients will be banned from the vicinity of the clinic.
